Our Mission and Role

The Border Guard Academy (WSSG), a public university for state services, was established on October 1, 2023, by a regulation of the Minister of Education and Science. The university continues the 31-year-plus tradition of the Central Border Guard Training Center in Koszalin, which trained over 132,000 officers. The Center became the foundation of the formation's educational system. Its transformation into an academic university has opened a new stage in its development by combining vocational education with scientific research and international cooperation.

The WSSG prepares Border Guard officers to carry out their statutory duties of protecting the state border. The university offers a complete educational program, including basic training, non-commissioned officer training, warrant officer courses, specialist training, and first-cycle academic studies. In the near future, the university will also offer second-cycle studies. Graduates obtain a bachelor's degree and ranks in the Border Guard service structure, combining academic competence with professional practice.

Conferences and Scientific Workshops: The Academic Profile of WSSG Activities

For years, the Border Guard Academy (WSSG) has been recognized as an organizer of specialized interdisciplinary conferences and workshops, particularly in the areas of migration, combating human trafficking, child protection, and border security. Thanks to national and EU grants, including programs from Frontex (the European Border and Coast Guard Agency) and CEPOL (the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training), we maintain an uninterrupted practice of implementing these projects.

Our modern teaching and conference facilities are designed for instructional, logistical, and methodological meetings, enabling us to conduct symposia and practical exercises effectively. In cooperation with local institutions on the central coast, we support international events, but we are open to partners from Poland and abroad who wish to create joint scientific and development initiatives. Our extensive experience in implementing educational and training projects invites you to cooperate with us in future conferences, workshops, and academic meetings.

WSSG as a research and project partner

WSSG is consistently developing its research and project profile and is becoming an analytical and expert center in the field of border security, migration, and critical infrastructure protection. We implement national and international projects, including those under Horizon Europe, the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, and the Internal Security Fund, that combine education, technological development, and the exchange of experiences.

Our goal is to build a network of scientific and practical partnerships with universities, state institutions, international organizations, and the private sector. Together, we aim to develop:

• Modern educational programs,

• Innovative methods and tools for border protection;

- research on migration and social integration;

- solutions in the field of cybersecurity and operational analysis;

• Systems that support the protection of critical infrastructure.
